For more the 60 years, the Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT) has presented the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching, or CAST. Over the years, CAST has evolved into the preeminent, must-attend event for more than 5,000 science educators and advocates from across Texas and the entire Southwest. We are thrilled to return to Dallas this November 21–23, 2019.
The Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT) connects and inspires science educators through professional development, networking, advocacy and its signature annual event, the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching (CAST). CAST is attended by more than 5,000 science educators and advocates each year.
Formally organized in 1957, STAT serves science educators of all disciplines and grade levels, including elementary education, environmental science, earth science, biology, chemistry, informal science and physics in K-12, university and informal settings.
STAT members are committed to science and the belief that science helps students understand the world, and STAT is committed to maintaining the highest levels of science education in Texas schools for all students.
