The Future of Education Technology Conference brings together a collaborative community of educational leaders and technology experts to exchange techniques and empower participants with strategies for teaching, leading and learning success. FETC® invites education technology professionals representing all levels, content areas and specialties, as well as industry and technology experts, to apply to present.
By sharing your successful practices that transform learning for all students, you can help inspire and encourage others to creatively deploy technologies and expand the possibilities of learning through educational technology. FETC AUDIENCE FETC® attendees represent all 50 states and over 70 countries. Our attendees have varied professional roles in education and all are educational technology leaders: Superintendents, CAOs, CIOs, district administrators, IT directors, special education directors, instructional designers, academic computing professionals, library media specialists, technology integration specialists, edtech and instructional coaches, tech-savvy faculty, and others charged with technology implementations on campuses, districts and states. The goal of FETC is to share best practices and effective leadership strategies that impact teaching to advance learning for every student and scale successful outcomes. FETC 2027 will provide an opportunity to discover how districts and schools are working to upskill all staff with emerging technologies and implementations such as artificial intelligence with new instructional practices, an exploration of career technical education options and the future education implications of expanded STEM and computer science curriculum. FETC is seeking submissions on emerging and immersive technologies such as vibe coding, web 3.0, metaverse, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, 3D Printing, blockchain, simulation software, esports and new collaboration, communication and creation tools that are providing ways to reimagine how people learn in inclusive environments leveraging personalized brain-based pedagogy. Additionally, conversations will center on infrastructure safety and cybersecurity as well as the policy and funding mechanisms that support technology district wide. FETC provides a community of solutions to today's evolving education challenges.
Every presentation will be classified by one of the following tracks based on the various roles in the school system. Applicants will be asked to select the track(s) best suited to their presentation. Below is a list of the FETC 2027 conference tracks and descriptions:
District Leaders:
The District Leaders Track at FETC convenes the largest gathering of K-12’s most influential decision-makers—superintendents, cabinet members, and senior district leaders—driving strategy at scale. Through dynamic sessions and real-world case studies, attendees will explore innovative operational strategies, emerging technologies, and instructional practices that deliver measurable impact across entire systems. Designed for those shaping the future of education, this track equips leaders with the insights and connections needed to leverage data, build innovative cultures, and lead transformative change with confidence.
School Leaders:
The School Leaders Track at FETC brings together forward-thinking principals, assistant principals, and campus leaders who are transforming what learning looks like on today’s campuses. Through dynamic, real-world sessions, attendees will explore how to design innovative learning environments, implement emerging technologies, and lead school communities with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Built for those making decisions closest to students, this track delivers practical strategies to solve today’s challenges, elevate teaching and learning, and create thriving, future-ready schools.
IT Leaders:
The IT Leaders Track at FETC brings together the architects of secure, scalable, and future-ready school systems with CIOs, CTOs, and technology leaders driving innovation at every level. Through cutting-edge sessions, attendees will explore cybersecurity, AI, data privacy, and emerging technologies while gaining actionable strategies to build resilient infrastructures and support teaching and learning at scale. Designed for those leading complex digital ecosystems, this track delivers the insights, tools, and roadmaps needed to make immediate impact and confidently navigate what’s next in K-12 technology.
Classroom Leaders:
The Classroom Leaders Track at FETC is built for educators ready to reimagine teaching and learning in a rapidly evolving, tech-powered world. Through engaging, hands-on sessions, teachers and instructional leaders will explore innovative strategies, emerging technologies, and student-centered pedagogies that elevate engagement, personalization, and real-world skill development. Designed for those closest to the classroom, this track delivers practical, immediately applicable ideas to transform instruction and maximize student impact.
Coach Leaders:
The Coach Leaders Track at FETC is designed for instructional and technology coaches who are driving transformation through both innovation and relational intelligence. Through dynamic, practice-driven sessions, attendees will explore high-impact coaching strategies, emerging technologies, and communication approaches that build trust, elevate teacher practice, and accelerate meaningful change. Built for those who influence at every level, this track equips coaches with the tools, language, and leadership mindset to scale impact across classrooms, teams, and entire systems.
Inclusion Leaders:
The Inclusion Leaders Track at FETC brings together visionary special education leaders and practitioners committed to ensuring every student has access to meaningful, high-quality learning. Through powerful, real-world sessions, attendees will explore cutting-edge assistive technologies, inclusive practices, and strategies that support diverse learners across both special and general education settings. Designed for those leading equity and access, this track delivers actionable solutions to match the right tools to student needs and create truly inclusive, future-ready classrooms.
Esports Leaders:
The Esports Leaders Track at FETC brings together the innovators building high-impact academic gaming programs that drive engagement, achievement, and career pathways. Through expert-led sessions and real-world insights, attendees will learn how to design and scale esports programs—from equipment and infrastructure to coaching, curriculum alignment, and competitive team development. Built for athletic directors, educators, and program leaders, this track delivers the strategies and connections needed to turn esports into a powerful engine for student success.
CTE Leaders: The CTE Leaders Track at FETC brings together innovators preparing students for high-demand careers through real-world, future-focused learning experiences. Through dynamic sessions and industry-aligned insights, attendees will explore how to integrate emerging technologies, build workforce partnerships, and design programs that connect classroom learning to career pathways. Built for leaders driving impact, this track delivers actionable strategies to elevate CTE programs, expand opportunities, and ensure students graduate ready for what’s next. Library Leaders:
The Library Leaders Track at FETC empowers librarians and media specialists as the catalysts of innovation, literacy, and student-centered learning across the school community. Through dynamic sessions, attendees will explore how to curate digital resources, expand equitable access, lead makerspaces and STEM labs, and integrate emerging technologies that spark creativity and collaboration. Designed for modern library leaders, this track delivers practical strategies to transform libraries into future-ready hubs of discovery, creation, and impact.
REVIEW AND EVALUATION CRITERIA
Our program selection committee will evaluate proposals in all tracks based on their value and relevance to the k12 education ecosystem. Each proposal undergoes a process of review and evaluation by the FETC® Program Selection Committee who use the following examination criteria:

PRESENTATION FORMATS FETC accepts applications to present for all of the session formats described below. Applicants will be asked to select the format(s) best suited to their presentation.
Concurrent Sessions (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Engage in expert-led, 45-minute sessions designed for up to 200 attendees, where innovators share actionable strategies, emerging trends, and real-world solutions shaping PK–12 education. Perfect for educators and leaders seeking practical ideas and fresh perspectives to immediately impact teaching, learning, and leadership.
Workshops (2 hours | Audience: All Attendees, Pre-Registered) Dive deep into hands-on, BYOD learning experiences where participants build new skills and leave with ready-to-implement strategies in just two hours. Designed for committed learners, these premium sessions offer immersive, skill-based professional development that goes beyond theory into real application.
Leadership Roundtables (60 minutes | Audience: District, State, and School Leaders) Join high-level leaders in 60-minute facilitated discussions focused on today’s most pressing challenges in policy, innovation, and school leadership. This collaborative format fosters meaningful dialogue, shared insights, and strategic thinking in a relaxed, peer-driven environment.
Thought Leadership Panels (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Hear from top voices in education and industry as panelists share diverse perspectives on critical edtech challenges and emerging solutions. These dynamic 45-minute discussions spark new ideas and deepen understanding of the trends shaping the future of education.
Speed Learning Lab (60 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Experience rapid-fire innovation in this high-energy session where you’ll explore 10 impactful ideas in just 60 minutes. Fast-paced and engaging, this format delivers immediate inspiration and actionable takeaways to tackle today’s biggest challenges.
Keynotes (60 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Be inspired by world-class speakers who bring powerful insights, bold ideas, and visionary thinking to the FETC main stage. These 60-minute experiences unite the entire audience around the most important conversations shaping education today.
MEGA Sessions (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Join large-scale, high-impact sessions featuring top speakers and the most in-demand topics in education technology. With audiences of 500+, these 45-minute sessions deliver big ideas, bold insights, and shared energy you won’t want to miss on the main stage.
Mobile Mega Share (3 hours | Audience: All Attendees) Participate in an interactive, multi-session experience where you rotate through topics and collaborate with peers over a three-hour block. This highly engaging format blends choice, conversation, and hands-on learning to maximize impact and connection.
Poster Sessions (Flexible | Audience: All Attendees) Explore a gallery of innovative ideas and research through interactive poster displays, where you can engage directly with presenters. This informal format encourages meaningful one-on-one conversations and deep dives into successful projects and practices.
Showcase Sessions (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Discover proven models of success as multiple presenters share real-world strategies within a single session space. Choose the topic that resonates most and gain practical insights you can bring back and implement immediately.
VR Immersive Classroom (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Step into a fully immersive, distraction-free learning environment using virtual reality to engage deeply with content and presenters. This next-generation 45-minute experience redefines professional learning through focus, interaction, and presence.
FETC Brain Gym: Digital Wellness Room (45 minutes | Audience: All Attendees) Recharge and reset in a thoughtfully designed space focused on digital wellness, balance, and mindful technology use. Through interactive sessions and hands-on experiences, attendees explore strategies to support mental, physical, and emotional well-being in a tech-driven world.
Immersive Technology Theater (30 minutes | Audience: Educators & School/District Leaders) Step into the future of learning in this 30-minute, hands-on experience where augmented reality, virtual reality, and spatial computing come to life through live demonstrations. Designed for forward-thinking educators and leaders, these sessions showcase how immersive, screenless technologies are transforming engagement, instruction, and experiential learning.
Information Technology & Cybersecurity Theater (30 minutes | Audience: CIOs, CTOs, IT Leaders & Technologists) Built for the architects of school system infrastructure, these 30-minute sessions dive into the latest in cybersecurity, network innovation, school safety technology, and data-driven IT operations. Designed for CIOs, CTOs, and IT professionals, this theater delivers actionable strategies to secure, scale, and future-proof digital ecosystems.
Emerging Technology Theater (30 minutes | Audience: All Education Leaders) Experience the future of education in fast-paced, 30-minute sessions featuring live demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies shaping teaching, learning, and school operations. Designed for senior decision-makers, this theater offers a front-row seat to the innovations and solutions driving strategic purchasing and transformational change.
PRESENTER INFORMATION Registration: FETC® is pleased to provide ONE complimentary conference registration to all of the accepted lead presenters (one per session). All co-presenters pay a discounted rate for the conference registration. ALL speakers must self-register to attend FETC. ALL communications will be sent to the primary email address you provide in the application. NOTE: It is important that you provide an email address that you access year-round and does not block FETC® emails. We recommend a personal email and not a school email if you do not control the spam filter.
Information Needed to Complete Application: The information gathered during this process will be used to prepare the agenda, website, signs, and the mobile app. Please be sure that the information you provide is complete and accurate. The following items are required parts of the application submission form below:
Presenter Responsibilities Contact Information: Please keep your contact information up-to-date and log in to your Speaker Service Center to get updates on your presentation. All event details and information for presenters are distributed in the Speaker Service Center online at the FETC webpage.
Presentation Equipment: FETC® requires all presenters to supply their own laptop or tablets for their session to present. If using an Apple device or tablet, presenters need to provide the appropriate projector connection (dongle). Standard A/V for every presentation includes: wireless Internet access available, LCD projector, screen, and microphone.
Presentation Materials: Part of effective professional development is providing meaningful presentation materials and online resources that allow the participants to further their learning. It is expected that presenters provide electronic presentation materials, handouts and/or follow-up materials for our event participants.
Social Media Engagement: FETC® expects all presenters to share their presentation notification and experiences about FETC® with their professional networks via social media (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky) FETC® will provide digital badges and speaker graphics to place on blogs, websites and electronic media.
