FETC Pitchfest

For over 40 years, the Future of Education Technology® Conference (FETC) has gathered the most dynamic and innovative education leaders and professionals from around the world for an intensive, highly collaborative exploration of new technologies, best practices, and pressing issues. FETC® is known to educators and technologists as the best place to engage with the thought leaders and pioneers leading the charge in classrooms, schools, and districts. This year's event will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, on January 15 – 17, 2025. 

 Nearly 10 years old, Pitchfest will take place on January 16, 2025. FETC Pitchfest is an opportunity for edtech startups seeking market exposure and validation, investment, customers, and strategic partnerships to showcase their innovative products and services.

Selected startups will pitch in front of a panel of industry experts, district administrators, front-line educators, parents, investors, and a live audience in six (6) categories. 

Finalists from each category will receive the following:

  • Two (2) session passes to attend FETC from January 14 - 17, 2025
  • A Pitchfest 2025 Finalist Badge (Digital)
 Winners from each category will receive the following:
  • A Pitchfest 2025 Winner Badge (Digital) & Trophy
  • Sponsored Content Ad in the DA Daily Newsletter ($1,350 value)
  • 1 Promotional FETC Social Post 
  • Partner Email Broadcast ($5,000 value) 

Applications for Pitchfest 2025 will open up on July 1, 2024 and close on October 11, 2024 11:59 PM EST.

For any Pitchfest inquiries, please contact

  • Pitchfest is open to early-stage startups in the education market. 

  • Startups must be established with a team and public-facing website, able to convey a sustainable business model and demonstrate user traction, engagement, and adoption metrics or strategy.
  • Startups that have raised over $8 million in funds from combined funding sources at the time of application are ineligible. 
  • Startups may only enter one product or service to Pitchfest. 
  • The product or service must fall into one of the Pitchfest categories. 
  • The presenter of the selected startups must attend one Pitchfest coaching session scheduled for January 14, 2025.

Pitchfest 2025 will select five (5) education technology startups for each of the following six (6) categories: 

Coding, Robotics & STEM: Technologies that introduce and/or facilitate the learning of computer programming, science, robotics, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts and experiences.

Early Childhood Learning: Technology that serves children in the preschool years and is designed to improve learning and future academic performance and social-emotional learning. 

Immersive Tech: Technologies that create distinct experiences by merging the physical world with digital or simulated reality. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are two principal types of immersive technologies. 

Language Learning: Technology that supports students' proficiency in a targeted language through interactive, meaningful, and cognitively engaging learning experiences.

Social-emotional Learning: Technologies that help students learn and apply social, emotional, and related skills, attitudes, behaviors, and values. This includes thoughts, feelings, and actions in ways that enable them to succeed. 

Wild Card: Technologies that do not fit squarely in other categories but fundamentally solve education-related issues in new and innovative ways.
