ASHE Annual Conference exhibitors and attendees sometimes receive unsolicited emails that claim to offer list rentals, hotel offers, and other sales pitches. Please be cautious of these offers.

Hotel solicitations

Our official hotels are included in the confirmation email that attendees receive once they complete their registration. Please be aware that entering into financial agreements with non-affiliated companies may have costly consequences. An example of an email claiming to be concerned about hotel availability may look like this:

List Rentals

Please note that ASHE and the PDC Summit do not sell member or conference attendee lists. Official exhibitors at the ASHE Annual Conference and the PDC Summit receive a pre-conference mailing list of attendees as part of their exhibitor package. Exhibitors should be cautious about unsolicited emails like this one, which claims to have an email list of ASHE Annual Conference attendees:

What we’re doing about it

Clarifying our official vendors
Sometimes these unsolicited emails include fine print at the bottom clarifying that they are not related to ASHE. Sometimes they do not. To help clarify, official ASHE vendors include the following firms.

  • Our registration company is called E-Show, and emails from this company come from email handles such as name@goeshow.com.
  • Our official exhibit show company is SmithBucklin, and emails from this company come from email handles such as name@smithbucklin.com.
  • Our official conference hotel information is included in the confirmation email you receive once you complete registration. For additional help with hotel information, contact the ASHE team at ashe@aha.org.
Encouraging caution
Encouraging all exhibitors and attendees to be especially diligent when engaging with any vendor who is not an official vendor of ASHE. ASHE and our official vendors never send emails from a non-business account (such as a gmail or yahoo account).

Working with our legal department
ASHE is working with our legal department on this ongoing issue. If you have a question about an email you have received or want to report an unsolicited email to us, please contact us and we will work with our legal department, if necessary.
