Proposal Information
The 2024 Annual Conference & Expo Session Submission site is now open and closes on March 11, 2024 at 11:59pm Eastern. All proposals must be submitted electronically through this portal. Paper proposals will not be accepted.

Before submitting, please note that your proposal must meet the following criteria:
General Submission Policies and Requirements
- Proposals must be fully developed with all required steps completed. Incomplete submissions will be ineligible for review and inclusion in the program.
- Submitters must attest that all proposed speakers have been notified that they have been included in the proposal and agree to participate if selected.
- ASBO International reserves the right to edit session details, including but not limited to title, description, topics, and speakers, for all proposals selected for inclusion in the program.
Corporate Member Policies and Requirements
- Corporate Membership is required for any proposal submitted by a company.
- Proposals must be educational in nature. Proposals constituting sales promotions will not be considered for inclusion in the program.
- Corporate members/industry partner proposals must include speakers considered professional, qualified experts in the topic area being presented. Proposals are encouraged to use school business professionals as expert speakers when appropriate.
Speaker Requirements
- All speakers must be identified upon submission.
- A speaker bio (100-word limit) will be required for each proposed speaker.
- All proposed speakers must be made aware of the submitted proposal and willing to participate if selected.
- Speakers must be available to present September 18-20, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
- Speakers who are experts outside of the field of school business and not eligible for membership in ASBO International are permitted to speak without being a member.
- Presenters at the Annual Conference & Expo serve voluntarily and are required to register to attend the conference.
- All related expenses for travel and hotel accommodations are the presenter's responsibility unless otherwise contractually arranged with ASBO International.
Presentation Requirements
- Education sessions will be scheduled for one hour.
- If your presentation requires an extended time, please contact ASBO staff for assistance.
- Session(s) may not promote products or services.
- Session topic(s) must relate to one of ASBO International's Professional Standards Areas unless they are geared toward State/Provincial ASBO Affiliate Staff (those who work at the state associations).
Review Criteria
Proposals will be reviewed and scored on a 5-point scale based on the following criteria:
ü Does the proposal provide important, new or novel insight?
ü Is the proposal relevant to the field of school business?
ü Is the proposal creative, original, new, or cutting-edge?
ü Is the proposal educational in nature and not a sales presentation?
ü Does the proposal include new or novel interactive formats incorporating adult learning theory?
ü Is the proposal organized, logical, and coherent?
ü Is the information immediately usable in your job or personal life?
