Presentation Review Guidelines

Once you have access to the presentations you have been assigned to, you will be reviewing each to ensure that the content within the presentations align with ARMA’s expectations for ARMA Canada Information Conference 2025. Please see below for some guidelines to keep in mind while reviewing:

Anything Egregious:
Is there something in this presentation that seems inappropriate, shocking, unprofessional, promotes a product or service, “defames” a person, firm, or corporation, doesn’t represent ARMA well, etc.? If yes, it’s a problem.

Copyright Materials:
As much as we tell people not to, they will put images in that they do not have a right to use. Also, the line on what is “fair use” can be fuzzy. If you see famous pictures, picture of famous people, cartoons, comics, etc., these are red flags. These images must be removed.

Same issues apply to graphics, although it may be okay for them to use with proper citations if they are discussing them (Chicago Style). Again, the line is fuzzy. We will discuss and stay in contact about what we are seeing and any issues/questions that arise.

All materials and content presented by the speaker should not infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, patent or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, nor do they promote or endorse any product, service, or device.

Promotion:
Speaker does not promote particular products or services.

Professionalism:
The presentation is created according to standards of professionalism and shall not denigrate ARMA, its programs or representatives in any manner.

The presentation content is visually clear, without distracting or overly dramatic animations, clip art, or use of shading on text that could make it difficult for attendees to understand what is on screen.
