Insurance Market Update
What are the underlying issues in the current market? Social inflation has impacted jury verdicts and casualty losses, ransomware has increased, climate change has impacted the frequency of catastrophic events, including those we can anticipate and e.g., hurricanes and those we can’t e.g., tornados and wildfires. What are the forecasts for the coming year, and what data do we have looking back that can help inform us? This session will provide an opportunity to hear about what you can expect in the marketplace.

Fiscal Cliff – Options to Keep Premiums Level
Public transit agencies are facing a difficult landscape. Liability claims are rising, premiums continue to climb, and many face financial uncertainty linked to post-pandemic recovery and reduced funding. These pressures create a “fiscal cliff” where reliance on traditional insurance may not be sustainable. Simply put, the status quo has become a no-go. Hear how agencies can take proactive steps to manage risk exposure, lower claim frequency and severity, and shorten loss runs and explore alternative financing strategies, like insurance pools or creating a captive company. All with the ultimate goal of reducing premium costs. While there is no one-size-fits-all solution to keep premiums stable, you will hear about a holistic assessment of agency operations, risks, and resources to chart the right path forward.
