Transit Agency Approaches to Supporting People Who are Homeless
Public transportation systems have realized an increase in those experiencing homelessness consuming transportation services and facilities as shelter. Transit agencies play a role in supporting persons who are homeless in their communities. Initiatives are a result of partnerships and a commitment to work with stakeholders to pursue solutions to address the economic, social and health factors. Many agencies have begun to enlist the assistance of contracted or in-house mental health clinicians or crisis interventionists and non-law enforcement resources. Join this workshop to contribute to a discussion on a topic that requires compassion, and community commitment.
