Hospice Summer Camp
Hospice is currently under significant scrutiny and there has never been a more important time for enhancing regulatory knowledge, financial acumen, and operational best practices. This preconference will provide an updated and thorough overview of the financial aspects of hospice, including discussion of emerging national economic and policy changes which will impact hospice operations, regulatory issues, and revenue-enhancing strategies.
Hospice Summer Camp is for intermediate-advanced hospice executives seeking to sharpen the skills and knowledge needed to improve management of hospice financial operations in this changing environment. Regulatory compliance, national moratorium, PPEO, and medical review are surging hot topics for hospice. This session will address the latest news on these topics and provide insights into operational impact, including providing strategies, tools, and insights for successfully navigating current hospice compliance audits.
This session will also explore the strategic integration of palliative care services within hospice organizations, focusing on operational excellence and financial viability. Participants will examine successful business models, and reimbursement strategies that drive sustainable palliative care programs.

Home Health Summer Camp
This workshop demystifies the Home Health Medicare Certified Agencies’ troubles that include: Cost Report and the insights it provides to agency leadership, Reimbursement issues related to PDGM, AI and Clinical Documentation & Medical Review. Designed for owners, administrators, and finance professionals, the workshop explains how cost report data is used for industry benchmarking, rate setting, and strategic decision making. Attendees will gain practical guidance to improve data accuracy, interpret results confidently, and use the cost report as a meaningful management tool—not just an annual exercise. Ambient Clinical Intelligence (ACI) and Generative AI: tools that record the patient assessment and map data directly to OASIS-E2 M-items, reducing manual entry errors while saving substantial clinician time, will be a part of this workshop. The "Hidden" Case Mix: a deep dive into how NLP (Natural Language Processing) identifies secondary diagnoses in hospital records that add significant weight to the PDGM payment grouping. Medical Review is at a historical high and climbing. Additional Documentation Requests (ADRs) and medical reviews can place significant operational and financial strain on home health agencies. Understanding how to prepare for audit activity, respond effectively to requests, and navigate the appeals process is essential to minimizing denial risk and protecting revenue.
