C-suite Only | Legacy in Motion: A Continuity Playbook for Women Leaders
Volunteer-led associations face a unique challenge: leadership changes quickly, yet strategy must endure. Annual board and officer turnover can stall progress, disrupt culture, and frustrate staff. This session will equip women executives with a practical “operating system” for sustaining continuity while keeping legacy in motion. Drawing on real-world lessons from national and international nonprofits, learn tools and rituals that protect momentum, build resilience, and prevent strategic drift. Framed through the lens of “New Power” leadership, participants will explore how to cultivate transparency, collaboration, and shared accountability across transitions. You'll leave with frameworks you can adapt immediately—ensuring that your legacy is not lost in leadership transitions but strengthened by them.
This session is intended for C-suite executives. Speaker(s): Alison Teitelbaum, MS, MPH, CAE, Founder & Principal Consultant, AST StrategiesLocation: Forum North Powered By Travel Portland |

Legacy Mapping: How to Create a Legacy That Feels as Good as it Looks
Legacy is often seen as something we reflect on at the end of a career or season of life. But what if legacy isn’t just what we leave behind? What if it’s also how we live, lead, and experience the journey along the way? In this interactive session, participants will explore a new way of thinking about legacy—not as a final gift, but as something created daily. Through the process of legacy mapping, participants will be guided through a simple, repeatable framework where you will identify the impact you want to make and define the conditions you need to thrive while contributing sustainably. Participants will leave with a completed personal legacy map, a clear statement of how you want to show up each day, and a practical tool you can apply to your work and life.

Rehearsing Power: Building Women’s Leadership Legacies Through Safe Practice
Too often, high-achieving women find themselves silenced in the moments that matter most—boardrooms, negotiations, and executive decisions. Despite their qualifications, many leaders struggle with self-doubt, cultural barriers, and the absence of a safe space to practice leading under pressure.
This session introduces a groundbreaking approach: using AI-powered simulations to help women rehearse critical leadership conversations before the spotlight is on them. Drawing from the presenter's journey as a senior leader at Google and Founder of Genee, participants will learn how practice-based leadership development rewires beliefs, accelerates confidence, and creates sustainable cultural change within organizations. Blending research, personal narrative, and interactive exercises, this session will empower participants to transform legacy from something inherited to something actively built. Leaders will leave with actionable frameworks to apply immediately—helping you speak with clarity, lead with conviction, and create ripple effects that endure. Compassionate Leadership: It’s Not About "Nice"
Leaders face significant challenges in motivating, caring for, and developing the team members they lead. Women and gender-expansive folks often face additional challenges and barriers to expressing their leadership. In a landscape of tremendous workforce change--driven by generational, societal, industrial, and other big shifts--many leaders are understandably overcorrecting as they try to balance the work needing to be done and the humanity of the people they manage (formally or informally). Integrating concepts from Nate Regier (compassionate accountability), Adrienne Maree Brown (loving corrections), Ken Blanchard (situational leadership), and others, this session will support leaders with practical tools and mindsets to support their people while getting the critical work done.

Truth vs. Trends: How Associations and Creators Can Combat Misinformation
Root canals cause cancer. Fluoride is poisonous. DIY orthodontics work. These are just a few of the dangerous myths racking up millions of views on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Left unchecked, misinformation spreads fast—shaping perceptions, fueling fear and undermining trust.
The American Association of Endodontists refused to sit back. Partnering with CS-Effect, they launched a smart, strategic influencer campaign to mobilize member endodontists and social media content creators (influencers) to combat these lies being spread and build credibility. In this session, participants will discover how associations can turn their members into powerful trusted voices and build impactful partnerships with influencers to cut through the noise, combat misinformation and ultimately strengthen member engagement. Join us as we transform ideas into actions in the playful yet informative style of peer learning and networking. Also, featuring a special Ignite presentation: Lessons From My Gen Z Boss: I invested in my teenage son’s ice cream bike business thinking I’d teach him MBA-level strategy. Instead, I became his employee—and his student. While I built frameworks for pricing, branding, and distribution, he trusted his gut, adapted on the fly, and kept winning over customers. This unexpected “reverse mentorship” experience showed the power of simplicity, authenticity, and action. In just five minutes, this Ignite talk delivers a hilarious and humbling reminder that the best leadership lessons often come from unexpected sources. Participants will leave inspired to reimagine generational collaboration, embrace new perspectives, and step back when it’s time to let others lead—even when “the boss” is still in high school.
