Anatomy of Authenticity
In a world where change is the only constant, one thing should remain as our true north: our authentic selves. Expressing our authenticity is a journey that requires the right tools and a strong sense of self. This session will provide you with both. We understand that being authentic is not always easy, especially when social norms and professional expectations come into play. That's why we must recognize disruptions for what they are and learn how to overcome them. By holding firm to our core values and using them as catalysts for change, we can liberate ourselves from difficulties and disruptions. Exploring authenticity and nurturing core values is best empowered by proximity. As association executives, we can best contribute by leading by example, recognizing and addressing disruptions, and supporting our teams to elevate their own values. This session will prepare you to do just that. Speaker(s): Primary Speaker: Vy Le, Membership and Governance Director, Linguistics Society of America

C-suite Only: Creating a Culture of Curiosity to Fuel Innovation, Connectivity, and Growth
In a pandemic era marked by major generational shifts, evolving member needs, and a changing workforce, the “new normal” calls for new mindsets and creative solutions. In this presentation, Stephanie Moritz, Chief Customer Innovation Officer at the American Dental Association, will highlight trends and offer useful insights on how building a culture of curiosity can fuel fresh ideas, empower teams for better problem-solving, and shape growth in our associations among members and professional teams. Curiosity is also the key toward addressing our most practical concerns, like employee turnover, team burnout, and member engagement. Game-changing innovation is often just a question away. Attendees will leave this session inspired by what a “How,” “Why,” or “What if” can do.
This session is intended only for C-suite executives. Speaker(s): Speaker: Stephanie Moritz, Chief Customer Innovation Officer, American Dental Association

From ‘Just Us’ to Justice: Doing Right by Every Generation
A multi-generational panel of coaches, executives, and DEI professionals will discuss what intergenerational justice looks like within organizations, especially when we advance that organizational justice from an intersectional lens (e.g., age/generation/experience plus race, ethnicity, gender, disability, social class, body size, parental status, etc.). Panelists will share specific tips on (a) coaching for and (b) designing ways to do right by all generations in our workplaces across sectors and industries. The panelists will share how data about generational trends do and don't help us lead and collaborate, and how to translate that information into responsive action. New Power Leadership: Empathy
To successfully lead a team in a post-2020 world, the Harvard Business Review wrote in an April 2021 article, managers must lead with empathy. We have all been through a lot - changes related to remote work, automation, and culture have left some workers feeling unsure of how to navigate their roles, while others have pushed for more support from their organizations. This panel of association leaders will discuss how they take ownership of their teams' cultures, leading with empathy and shifting to a more personal approach while inspiring innovation and results. Being empathetic - understanding the challenges each of your team members face, providing feedback and coaching to bridge gaps, and inspiring growth and professional development - is a part of "New Power" Leadership. Learn how you can improve engagement and results by shifting your management style and empowering your team to overcome challenges and obstacles.
