Dental Hygienist Program: Implant Maintenance and Follow-up Care for Dental Hygienists and the Entire Team
This program is geared towards Dental Hygienists and and other interested office staff. This session is included with the general meeting registration or invite your office staff for the day.
Dental implant therapy is now the standard of care for patients with missing teeth. As the number of implant cases increases, it is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of the signs, stages and risk factors associated with peri-implant diseases. This course emphasizes evidence-based strategies and explores optimal protocols for maintaining implant health. Participants will learn to identify early warning signs of peri-implant breakdown, receive practical guidance on using proper instrumentation, and understand how systemic diseases can adversely affect long-term peri-implant health.
Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to: 1) acknowledge specific recare protocols to effectively maintain dental implant-supported restorations from single tooth to full-arch restorations; 2) identify the signs, stages, and risk factors of peri-implant disease; 3) review the appropriate implant maintenance instruments, including both hand and power tools; and 4) apply evidence-based prevention strategies and techniques to enhance patient compliance and treatment success.
