Advances and New Perspectives in Crestal Sinus Augmentation

Sinus elevation is a well-established procedure for overcoming limited vertical bone availability during dental implant placement. While the use of short implants have shown predictable success in certain cases, the crestal sinus elevation technique has gained widespread acceptance in recent years due to the introduction of various approaches, instruments, and devices. This presentation will explore enhanced protocols and techniques to optimize crestal sinus elevation. Attendees will learn how to achieve optimal elevation through the use of specialized tools and methodologies. Additionally, new strategies for managing sinus septa, dealing with slopes, and repairing Schneiderian membrane perforations during the crestal approach will be highlighted.

Clinical and Histological Efficacy of New EK Implant System

Titanium and titanium alloys are widely recognized for their excellent biocompatibility, which contributes to predictable osseointegration. The secondary stability of implants, which is critical for long-term success, primarily depends on the implant's biological integration with the surrounding bone. The recently introduced EK implant system, featuring a sandblasted acid-etched (SA) surface combined with a nanohydroxyapatite (NH) coating, has shown promising results in enhancing this secondary stability. This presentation will explore preclinical study data and clinical case outcomes, demonstrating the superiority of this advanced implant system in promoting optimal osseointegration and improving implant success.
