We will explore owl pellets in a series of NGSS lessons designed to engage English language learners and build academic vocabulary through discussion, writing, and reading. This short course uses a 5E lesson plan to demonstrate how an inquiry into owl pellets and owl habitats can help students access academic vocabulary, build their conceptual framework, and inspire reading and writing that will become the basis for further inquiry. |
